PULWAMA, SEPTEMBER 14: A grand SVEEP awareness program aimed at encouraging young female voters to participate in the democratic process was held today at the Government Degree College for Women, Pulwama.
The event, organized in collaboration with the Nodal Officers of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), saw enthusiastic participation from the college administration, Booth Level Officers (BLOs), Booth Awareness Groups (BAGs), staff and students.
The highlight of the event was a special address by Tehzeeba, a visually impaired Student Icon from the Islamic University, currently pursuing a B.A. (Honours). Alongside speeches from college representatives and SVEEP Nodal Officers, Tehzeeba delivered an inspiring message about the power of voting and the importance of civic responsibility.
All the speakers emphasized democratic values, underscoring the duties and responsibilities of every citizen to participate in the upcoming Assembly elections. They called for a record voter turnout, particularly encouraging young women to exercise their right to vote.
Following the speeches, a voter pledge and signature campaign took place on the college campus, with all attendees participating enthusiastically, reinforcing their commitment to being active contributors in the democratic process.
