KISHTWAR, SEPTEMBER 10: General Observers for AC-48 Inderwal Dr A Arun Thamburaj, 49-AC Kishtwar & AC-50 Paddar Nagseni Dodda Vankata Swamy, along with Police Observer Ranjeet Kumar Mishra and Expenditure Observer Sameer Kumar Jha today held a joint meeting to review preparedness for Assembly Elections in the district.
District Election Officer Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan, SSP Kishtwar Abdul Qayoom and Nodal Officers of the district were present in the meeting.
Observers emphasised on conducting free, fair, peaceful and transparent elections.
The DEO gave a detailed presentation on the District Election Management Plan (DEMP). The Observers enquired about critical aspects of the election plan going into the details of the arrangements made by the District Election Authority.
They also held an extensive interaction with Nodal Officers and issued important instructions and impressed upon everybody to ensure strict implementation of the MCC and also to be sufficiently vigilant while performing their election duties. Furthermore, they emphasised on the role of training of the polling staff and also of the Sector Magistrates and the Zonal Magistrates.
The Observers were also briefed by SSP regarding the security plan and status of security personnel for pre-poll and poll day. They said that sufficient CCTV cameras and security personnel should be present at polling stations.
The Observers highlighted the importance of maintaining utmost professionalism and transparent conduct during the elections.
