Sopore Police Freeze Terror Funds Worth ₹18.93 Lakh Under UAPA

Sopore, July 11 (JKNS): Sopore Police have attached bank credits totaling ₹18.93 lakh identified as proceeds of terrorism in connection with case registered at Police Station Sopore.

Police spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads, Sopore Police have attached bank credits amounting to ₹18,93,426, identified as proceeds of terrorism, in connection with FIR No. 105/2024 registered at Police Station Sopore, statement reads.

The case is being investigated under Sections 13, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 38, 39, 40 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Section 7/25 of the Arms Act. The attachment was carried out following due approval from the competent authority under the UA(P) Act, it reads.

The action marks a crucial move in the ongoing crackdown against terror financing networks and logistical support systems aiding terrorist organisations and their affiliates, it reads.

Sopore Police remain firmly committed to dismantling the entire terror ecosystem ideological, operational, and financial, it reads.

“No individual or entity funding or facilitating terrorism will be spared. Every rupee aiding terrorism will be traced, frozen, and acted upon under the law,” it reads.

The public is urged to remain vigilant and report any information that can help isolate and eliminate threats to peace and national security, reads the statement. (JKNS)
