Karnah: A special two-day medical outreach camp concluded at the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Tangdhar, Karnah, for individuals seeking disability certificates. The camp was organized under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kupwara in collaboration with the district administration.
During the camp, a total of 255 individuals were screened and medically examined. On the first day, May 1st, 167 patients were examined, including 52 children, while on the second day, May 2nd, 88 individuals were screened, including 27 children.
Seven specialist doctors from different parts of the Kashmir Valley participated in the camp and conducted thorough medical assessments. The significance of this camp lies in the fact that, generally, residents of Karnah have to travel to Kupwara for disability assessments. However, this time, due to the joint efforts of the district administration and the health department, this facility was made available at the local level.
Block Medical Officer Tangdhar, Dr. Arif Khawaja, stated that the camp concluded successfully and benefitted a large number of people. He emphasized that their goal is to bring healthcare facilities directly to people’s homes.
Local residents appreciated this initiative and expressed hope that such camps will continue to be organized in the future as well, so that people in remote areas can receive medical facilities at their doorstep.
