Jammu: Chairperson of J&K Waqf Board and Minister of State, Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi on Saturday visited Imambaras in Pandrethan and Balhama to take stock of facilities being arranged for Muharram, besides inspecting preparations at the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra base camp at Pantha Chowk.
During her visit, Dr. Andrabi was accompanied by DDC Member and senior BJP leader Engineer Aijaz Hussain. She met several public delegations, listened to their issues, and directed immediate redressal by coordinating with concerned departments.
Speaking to reporters, she said, “Muharram reminds us of the great sacrifice of Imam Hussain (AS) and his family for truth and righteousness. His legacy is eternal, and his message continues to inspire humanity against tyranny.”
Later, at the Amarnath Yatra base camp, Dr. Andrabi interacted with management and volunteers serving the pilgrims. “Amarnath Yatra is not only a spiritual journey but also a symbol of communal harmony. We welcome the yatris with open hearts and are committed to their safety and comfort,” she said.
