Srinagar, June 26 (JKNS): Member Legislative Assembly Waheed‑Ur‑Rehman Parra has flagged the worsening water crisis in J&K, stating that hundreds of engineering posts remain vacant in key departments, delaying vital projects across the region.

In a post on X, MLA Waheed‑Ur‑Rehman Parra has expressed serious concern over the worsening water crisis in Jammu and Kashmir, stating that hundreds of vital engineering positions remain vacant across key departments, including PHE, Irrigation, and Public Works.

Parra said these long‑pending vacancies were severely impacting critical infrastructure projects, many of which have been delayed or stalled.

“It’s unfortunate that amid this travesty, the J&K Government is sitting on these files,” Parra wrote, urging National Conference vice‑president Omar Abdullah to intervene immediately, it reads.

According to the post, the vacancies include, Hydraulic (PHE/Irrigation/Jal Shakti):– Chief Engineers: 10 | XENs: 10 | AEEs: 200. PWD (R&B): – Chief Engineers: 3 | SEs: 11 | XENs: 32. Mechanical:– XENs: 20 | AEEs: 60 | AEs: 50 | JEs: 250, reads the post of Parra. (JKNS)
