Srinagar, June 25 (JKNS): Srinagar Police conducted a comprehensive mock drill at the Yatra Niwas in Pantha Chowk as part of preparations for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra on Wednesday.
Speaking to media persons, SSP Sundeep Chakravarthy said, as per news agency JKNS, the exercises were conducted across eight zones of the city to assess preparedness for any possible emergencies, including IED blasts, terrorist attacks, fires, and stampedes.
“The administration is fully ready for any situation that might arise during the Amarnath Yatra,” SSP Chakarwardy said, urging people to cooperate and extend their support, especially during traffic restrictions and movement timings.
He further stated that the Face Recognition System (FRS) is being technically updated to bolster security and ensure a safe and seamless pilgrimage for all devotees.
CAPF, SOG, and Srinagar Police jointly conducted the mock drill, simulating scenarios such as IED blasts and other emergencies to assess preparedness and ensure a quick and coordinated response during the Amarnath Yatra. (JKNS)
