Karnah, Kupwara – June 23, 2025: Senior BJP leader Idrees Karnahi conducted a series of public meetings at multiple locations across the Karnah region on Monday, addressing party workers and the general public. During the meetings, he emphasized the importance of ensuring transparency in developmental works across all departments and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to grassroots development.
While interacting with workers, Karnahi issued clear instructions to monitor and review ongoing developmental projects in their respective areas, ensuring that public funds are utilized efficiently and for the benefit of the common people.
He also touched upon the upcoming Panchayat elections, stating that the BJP is fully prepared to contest and is hopeful of strong support from the people of Karnah. “We are the only party that has delivered on the long-pending demands of the region,” said Karnahi. “The BJP government has fulfilled two major demands of the people of Karnah – granting Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to the Pahari community and the much-awaited approval for the Sadhna Tunnel Project.”
The announcement of the Sadhna Tunnel, a vital infrastructure project aimed at ensuring year-round connectivity between Karnah and the rest of Jammu and Kashmir, has been met with widespread appreciation across the region. “This project will not only provide relief to thousands of residents who face winter isolation but also boost economic and tourism prospects in the area,” said Karnahi.
Taking a swipe at rival political parties, he remarked, “For decades, other parties have made false promises to the people of Karnah. But in just a few years, the BJP has turned those promises into reality. We are working with dedication, not deception.”
Idrees Karnahi concluded his speech by thanking the central BJP leadership and the government for their continuous support to border regions like Karnah, assuring that more developmental projects are in the pipeline.
The series of public meetings saw enthusiastic participation from party workers, locals, and youth who welcomed the announcements with optimism and pledged their support in the upcoming elections.
