Srinagar: Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary, Tuesday chaired a meeting to review the performance of Jammu and Kashmir Industries (JKI) at Civil Secretariat, Srinagar.
During the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister highlighted that Jammu and Kashmir has vast potential for the industrial sector and there are many schemes which are imperative for the overall development of this sector. He directed the department to utilize all possible avenues for conveying objectives of the schemes under the Industrial sector to the people of J&K so that more people are made aware about the scheme. He also impressed upon proper hand holding of the budding entrepreneurs and artisans for constant facilitation of them at each level.
Emphasizing the importance of timely support to the unit holders and effective scheme delivery, the Deputy Chief Minister stressed the need for prompt release of incentives and subsidies to local entrepreneurs and industrial units.
Highlighting the importance of sustainable industrial growth for economic stability and employment generation in J&K, the Dy CM asserted that the government is focused on encouraging fiscal accountability, transparency, efficient project implementation and infrastructure development. He maintained that J&K is poised for significant industrial growth, attracting investments and fostering a vibrant industrial ecosystem.
The Dy CM reiterated that the government is committed to improving the business environment and supporting entrepreneurs will be crucial in driving this growth forward.
Earlier, MD, Vikrant Gupta, gave a detailed presentation on the achievements, progress and future plans of JKI.
Commissioner Secretary, I&C, Vikramjit Singh, along with the concerned officials were present in the meeting.
