Srinagar, Jun 12: The Eco Tourism Society of Kashmir has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Bharat CSR Network to promote responsible tourism and generate employment opportunities in Jammu & Kashmir.
As part of the agreement, the two organisations will collaborate on initiatives aimed at reviving the region’s tourism sector through sustainable practices. The partnership includes hosting conferences, events, and campaigns that bring together influencers, celebrities, and stakeholders to encourage tourism in the Valley.
“We are planning targeted campaigns and activities to increase tourist footfall and showcase Kashmir as a safe and vibrant destination,” said Dr. Sajid Saiyed, Chairperson of Bharat CSR Network.
Mohammad Shafi Wagnoo, Convener of the Eco Tourism Society of Kashmir, said, “We are confident that this partnership will play a vital role in promoting tourism in the region, especially responsible and eco-friendly tourism practices.”
The MOU comes at a time when the region is seeking to recover from a slowdown in tourist arrivals and aims to offer a structured approach to tourism that aligns with ecological and cultural sensitivities.
