Doda : A series of impactful IEC (Information, Education & Communication) campaign events were organised Tuesday across Bhaderwah, Changa, Chilly Pingal, Jakyas, Thathri, Ghat and other blocks of District Doda.
The awareness drives were organized under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh and supervision of the District Social Welfare Officer and Nodal Officer IEC Campaign Tariq Qazi.
The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from educational institutions, youth clubs, and community stakeholders.
A wide range of awareness activities were conducted, including rallies, nukkad nataks (street plays), slogan-writing and poster-making competitions, and motivational talks. The event also featured Youth-led sessions wherein the younger generation was encouraged to become ambassadors of change.
At Panchayat Chanser of Changa Block, the campaign featured vibrant skits, slogan presentations, and interactive sessions in the presence of PRI members, students, and civil society members, encouraging open dialogue on the issue of substance abuse.
A special awareness event was held at Government Higher Secondary School Ghat, featuring counseling sessions by health officials, interactive group discussions with students, and participation from PRI members, teachers, and social workers. The event emphasized the role of schools and families in early intervention and support for at-risk youth.
Participants across all blocks took a solemn pledge to fight against drug abuse by supporting preventive efforts in their communities.
