Srinagar: As Eid-ul-Adha, the festival of sacrifice, is being celebrated on Saturday in Jammu and Kashmir, greetings poured in from all over on the festive eve.
The Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, greeted the people on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha
In his message, the Lieutenant Governor said: “Eid Mubarak! Heartiest greetings and good wishes
to the people on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. Eid embodies the spirit of sacrifice and forgiveness. Let us reiterate our resolve to strengthen the foundations of unity, harmony and brotherhood in the society and work with love and compassion to ensure the well-being of all. May this festival spread peace and bring prosperity to all”.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah extended warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, wishing them peace, well-being and prosperity.
In his message on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha, the Chief Minister said the holy occasion imbibes in us the spirit of making honesty, truthfulness and selflessness a way of life.
“Eid-ul-Azha is not only a celebration of faith but also a reminder of the profound sacrifice and complete submission to the will of Almighty. The unwavering trust shown by Prophet Ibrahim (AS)
and the willing obedience of Prophet Ismail (AS) teach us the essence of selflessness, devotion
and steadfastness in the face of trials,” Omar Abdullah said.
He expressed hope that this auspicious occasion will further strengthen the bonds of communal harmony, mutual brotherhood, amity and tranquility across the region.
The Chief Minister also prayed for sustained peace, harmony and progress in Jammu and Kashmir.
Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President, Farooq Abdullah, conveyed his heartfelt greetings to the people, wishing them peace, prosperity, and unity.
“..It is a moment for us all to reflect on the importance of compassion, generosity, and empathy. Let us come together to uplift the less fortunate and bring joy to those in need. May the spirit of Eid bring solace to the people of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, and may it help ease their burdens,” Abdullah said.
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti extended heartfelt greetings to the people on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha, emphasizing the festival’s values of sacrifice, compassion, and unity.
She urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to strengthen bonds of brotherhood and work towards peace and harmony amidst ongoing challenges in the region.
Minister for Jal Shakti, Javed Ahmed Rana and Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Satish Sharma, also extended warm greetings on Eid.
Peoples Conference President and MLA Sajad Lone extended his heartfelt greetings and warm felicitations to the people of Kashmir

In his message, Mirwaiz said Eid-ul-Adha is a reminder of Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) devotion and sacrifice, teaching us that true qurbani lies in sincerity, taqwa, and selflessness—not just ritual.
He urged people to let this Eid renew their commitment to compassion, justice, and unity, and to serve those in need, especially the underprivileged.
Chairman of the All Party Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC), Jagmohan Singh Raina, extended warm greetings on the auspicious occasion of Eid.
“Eid-ul-Adha is a festival of sacrifice, compassion, and devotion, and serves as a reminder of the values of unity and selflessness,” Raina said. He expressed hope that the occasion would strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and communal harmony in Jammu and Kashmir.
He further emphasized the need for mutual respect and understanding among different communities, and wished for peace, prosperity, and well-being for all.
