Udhampur: To spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promote the message of a drug-free society, the Cultural Unit of the Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), Jammu, Wednesday organized a symposium at Anand Bhartiya Vidyalaya High School, Udhampur.
The event was graced by the School Principal Ritu Abrol, who attended as the Chief Guest. A total of 20 students participated in the symposium, passionately articulating their views on the theme of ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’.
In a competitive and inspiring session, Bhumika secured the First Prize, followed by Ayushi who bagged the Second Prize and Aryan who claimed the Third Prize. Tania and Reeshika received consolation prizes for their commendable efforts.
The presentations were evaluated by a panel of judges comprising Kiran Badyal, Ritu Sharma and Asha, who lauded the enthusiasm and awareness exhibited by the students.
Students, staff members and officials from the Cultural Unit, Jammu, attended the event, which concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks and expressions of appreciation for all participants.
Meanwhile, a Cultural Awareness Programme titled ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ (Say No to Drugs) was also organized at Govt. Higher Secondary School Lander, Udhampur.
Artists of the Cultural Unit, Jammu captivated the audience with thematic songs, effectively demonstrating the repercussions of drug addiction on individuals, families and society at large.
The programme was attended by staff of school and students. The students also showcased Nukkad Natak cantered around the theme.
Principal of the school, Sanjay Pakhru lauded the Department of Information and Public Relations for organizing the programme.
The programmes were conducted under the guidance of Joint Director Information Jammu Deepak Dubey and the supervision of Cultural Officer Mukesh Kumar Sharma.
