Jammu: Gurdeep Singh has been elected as the new President of Hockey Jammu and Kashmir during an election meeting held at Srinagar under the observation of Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council and Hockey India.
As per the official communiqué, the new body was elected and announced in the presence of Sekar J Manmohan, Treasurer, Hockey India, who acted as the observer from Hockey India and Musbat Ismail, Deputy Legal Remembreancer was deputed as Returning Officer and Goutam Shukla as observer by the J&K Sports Council for the conduct of smooth elections.
Manmohan said that Indian Hockey is doing its best, and as of now, no other field game association is performing like Hockey India.
“Right now, four teams are in Europe and Argentina, and he congratulated the new team of Hockey J&K and assured them of all possible support to promote hockey in J&K,” he added.
Ismail also congratulated the elected team and expected them to work for the promotion of the game.
New President Gurdeep Singh however, to head the new team comprising Jameel Mustafa, Sanjeev Kumar (Senior Vice Presidents), Manjeet Singh, Manbeer Kour, Amarjeet Singh Nangyal, Jasvinder Kour (Vice Presidents), Dr. Taran Singh (Secretary General), Tejinder Singh (Secretary), Raja Fazal Abass, Shaista Shafi (Joint Secretaries), Raviraj Singh (Treasurer), Baljeet Kour, Ranbir Singh (Resident Secretaries), Binod Singh, Shelav Sharma, Sandeep Malgotra, Rinkal, Sheikh Tanveer Ul Haq, Robin Singh and Magandeep Sudan (Member Executives).
