It seeks to equip farmers with advanced knowledge, sustainable practices and scientific innovations to enhance productivity and economic growth.

As part of this ambitious initiative, nine awareness programs were conducted across 09 villages of Kulgam, focusing on critical agricultural challenges and emerging solutions.

These sessions featured interactive workshops, and expert-led discussions designed to promote sustainable farming techniques, efficient resource utilization, and climate-resilient agricultural methods.

Scientists from MRCFC Khudwani, along with Scientists from the KVK Kulgam, provided hands-on guidance on topics viz. integrated pest management, high-yield crop varieties, soil fertility enhancement, water-efficient farming methods, natural farming, role of drones in agriculture, livestock management and relevant govt. schemes etc.

Their expertise helped bridge the gap between scientific research and practical farming applications, empowering farmers with actionable insights to improve productivity and sustainability.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Ganai emphasized the importance of adapting modern agricultural innovations and collaborative knowledge-sharing to strengthen the farming community. He stated, “The Viksit Krishi Abhiyan represents a pivotal movement in revolutionizing agriculture in Kulgam. By integrating scientific knowledge with grassroots farming experience, we are fostering a future of self-sufficient, profitable, and environmentally sustainable agriculture.”

Local farmers actively participated in discussions and shared their experiences, expressing appreciation for the initiative.

The Viksit Krishi Abhiyan is set to continue with a series of awareness Programmes, field and technology-driven agricultural demonstrations up to 15th June.
