DC reviews power supply scenario in Kishtwar district

KISHTWAR: Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan chaired a meeting with JPDCL officials to review the power supply situation in the district.

Key issues discussed included load management, power line maintenance and expediting ongoing projects aimed at upgrading the power distribution network.

The DC expressed concern over the slow pace of works under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) and directed executing agencies to double their efforts. Regarding smart metering, he directed the executing agencies to constitute 10 teams to meet the target within two months and ensure that installed smart meters are functional.

The DC emphasized the importance of plugging electricity pilferage and directed enforcement agencies to disconnect power supply to consumers refusing to install smart meters.

The meeting was attended by CPO Kishtwar Shahnawaz Bali; Tehsildar HQ, Sunali Rani; XEN JPDCL, Latief Ahmed Wani; AEE Kishtwar, Er. Showkat Ahmad Khan; AEE TLMD Batote, Er. Kewal Singh Pathania; AE STD, Er. Brij Mohan; besides representatives of Genus, REC and Vijay Electricals.
