Ayush Ang organizes Yoga event at Historic Martand Temple

Anantnag: To promote health and wellness through traditional practices, District Ayush Office, Anantnag, on Wednesday organized a grand yoga event at famous and historic Martand Sun Temple under the theme of ‘Harit Yoga,’ symbolizing harmony between nature and human well-being.
Set against the majestic backdrop of the ancient Martand Temple, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of people, including students, youth, local residents, and officials from various departments, including Ayush, Sports, Education, Health, Rural Development, and Social Welfare. The serene and spiritually enriching location further elevated the experience, making it both a cultural and wellness-oriented celebration.
Speaking on the occasion, officials emphasized the importance of yoga as an ancient Indian practice that fosters balance between the body, mind, and soul. “Yoga is not merely a physical exercise but a holistic approach to health, inner peace, and sustainable living,” said a senior Ayush officer present at the event.
The ‘Harit Yoga’ theme also underscored the need to integrate yoga with environmental consciousness. As part of the initiative, participants were sensitized about the importance of green living and maintaining ecological balance. The gathering highlighted how a healthy body, peaceful mind, and clean environment are interlinked in achieving holistic well-being.
Several yoga demonstrations were conducted by trained instructors, and sessions included breathing techniques, stretching exercises, meditation, and discussions on the benefits of regular yoga practice.
Officials encouraged people to incorporate yoga into their daily routines for enhanced physical fitness, mental clarity, and emotional stability.
The event concluded with a pledge to continue the journey toward a healthier and greener future through yoga and environmental stewardship.
