Budgam : In a significant development aimed at strengthening healthcare infrastructure and ensuring uninterrupted power supply to critical health institutions, a dedicated 24×7 power hotline (11kV) has been activated on Tuesday at Community Health Centre (CHC) Pakherpora under District Mineral Fund.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, AkshayLabrooon Tuesday inspected the functioning & commissioning of the Hotline.
The project taken under the District Mineral Fund (DMF) marks the fulfillment of a long-standing demand from the local populace, hospital administration, and staff, who had been facing challenges due to frequent power cuts impacting essential health services.
The new power line ensures round-the-clock electricity to the CHC, which serves a large catchment area spanning parts of Budgam and neighboring Pulwama districts.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said, earlier the CHC was reliant on a non-essential feeder, making it vulnerable to routine power cuts. Recognizing the criticality of uninterrupted power supply for healthcare delivery, the District Administration prioritized the establishment of a dedicated 11kV hotline to the facility.
The project was executed by KPDCL Pulwama, which completed the installation work in a very short time, he added.
DC further emphasised that district administration is committed towards improving basic infrastructure and ensuring the delivery of essential services to citizens of all areas of the district
He noted that such interventions, made possible through optimal utilization of resources under the District Mineral Fund, reflects the proactive role of the administration towards developmental activities in remote areas in particular.
Besides, SDM Chadoora, CMO Budgam, Executive Engineer KPDCL, other officials from KPDCL, health department representatives, and local public were present at the occasion.
It is worth mentioning that commissioning of this hotline stands as a model of collaborative governance for public service delivery, promising a significant boost in the quality of healthcare in the region.
