Srinagar: Senior Congress leader Engineer Danish Reshi on Monday expressed deep anguish over the tragic suicide of a minor student at Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute, allegedly driven by repeated harassment and discrimination over a tattoo.
In a post shared on social media, Reshi described the incident as “heartbreaking” and questioned the role of the school authorities in the psychological breakdown of the student.
“A minor driven to suicide by relentless pressure and alleged discrimination over a tattoo. This is unacceptable! Who failed this child? Demand accountability now!” Danish Reshi wrote, calling for a thorough probe and justice for the bereaved family.
The tragic death has triggered outrage among the public, with many demanding the government and education authorities take strict action against those responsible and ensure mental health support is prioritized in all schools across the region.
