Tough Action Against Illegal Mining: Awantipora Police Seize Vehicles, Arrest Two in Pampore

Awantipora: In a major crackdown on illegal mining, Awantipora Police have intensified their drive and seized three vehicles involved in unlawful excavation and transportation of minerals. Two persons have also been arrested in connection with the case.

Police spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads, police intensified efforts to combat illegal mining activities in the Police district Awantipora and has seized 03 vehicles used in illegal excavation and transportation of minerals and Arrested 02 Persons, it reads.

Driven by following persons, Irfan Hassan Rather s/o Bashir Ahmad R/o Sumerbugh Lasjan and Adil Ahmad Dar S/o Mukhtar Ahmad Dar R/o Hajibal Kakapora, it reads.

Accordingly, case FIR NO. 60/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Pampore and further investigation has been initiated, reads the statement. (JKNS)
