Srinagar: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday accorded sanction for the constitution of a high-level committee for the handover of Centaur Lake View Hotel Srinagar to a private concessionaire, Lago Vue Srinagar Private Limited, as per the concession agreement.
The government order issued by J&K Govt a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS reads, lists the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir as the Chairman of the committee. The committee is tasked with overseeing the handover in a time-bound manner.
The committee comprises key officials including the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Chief Engineer of Public Works (R&B), Secretary of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Director of Horticulture Kashmir, Chief Engineer of Jal Shakti Department, Chief Engineer of KPDCL, Vice Chairman of J&K Lake Conservation and Management Authority, Commissioner of Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Director SKICC, Secretary of Royal Spring Golf Course, and the Divisional Forest Officer Srinagar.
Additionally, various departments and offices have been assigned specific responsibilities related to the handover process. The Revenue Department is tasked with documenting the land area being provided to the Concessionaire and other relevant matters.
The Public Works (R&B) Department is directed to prepare an inventory of items on the premises, advise on their removal, and address related matters. The Department of Culture is to inventory antique items and paintings and provide guidance on their removal, it reads.
The Directorate of Horticulture Kashmir is required to document existing trees, while the Jal Shakti Department will document water meter readings and connection status. KPDCL will handle the electricity meter readings and connection-related documentation.
The J&K Lake Conservation and Management Authority will document building details including façade, bulk, and Dal Lake access. The Srinagar Municipal Corporation will cover sewerage and access points, while SKICC will provide input on interconnected utility lines and segregation of open areas.
Furthermore, the Royal Springs Golf Course and Forest Department are to assist the Concessionaire in inspecting the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) located within their respective premises and jurisdiction.
The Tourism Department has been made responsible for the overall oversight, inter-departmental coordination, and monitoring of the handover process to ensure transparency, accountability, and timely completion in accordance with the agreement, reads the order. (JKNS)
