DC Kulgam reviews power sector, RDSS projects

Kulgam: In order to assess the progress of ongoing works under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), a meeting was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, AtharAamir Khan at the mini-secretariat Kulgam.
During the meeting, Chief Manager Power Grid briefed the DC on the status of ongoing projects in the district.
It was informed that the RDSS, with a project cost of Rs 113 crore, aims to strengthen the power distribution infrastructure in the district by installing 618 new distribution transformers and 330 km of LT Aerial Bundled Cables (ABC) and 450 km of HT reconductor Circuit kmts.
It was further apprised the initiative is designed to reduce Aggregate Technical and Commercial (AT&C) losses in Kulgam.
Through a powerpoint presentation it was given out that 57% progress has been made in installation of HT/LT electric poles while 62% in cabling and 10% in conductor laying has been completed against the work allotted which ultimately leads to accumulative physical progress of 36%.
DC expressed dissatisfaction with the delayed supply of distribution transformers and directed the concerned to expedite the delivery process to ensure timely completion of the project.
He instructed to mobilize men and machinery to ensure completion of projects well in time besides proper coordination between different departments.
The DC emphasized the importance of completing the works within the stipulated timeline to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the power distribution system in the district.
The meeting was also attended by ADC, Viqar Ahmed Giri; CPO ZahidSajad; Senior G M PGC, S E KPDCL Circle Bijbehara, Executive Engineers of KPDCL, STD Bijbehara, NH444 Sgr, Project Division Sgr, Project Wing (PGCIL) Tehsildars, AEEs and JEs and other Officers.
