Secy, DLSA B’pora holds introductory/ review meetings with Panel Lawyers, LADCs & PLVs

Bandipora: Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bandipora, held three separate meetings with Panel Lawyers, Legal Aid Defense Counsels (LADCs), and Adhikar Mitras (PLVs) to discuss key initiatives and challenges in providing legal aid services to the marginalized sections of society.
Meetings aimed to enhance prompt delivery of legal services to vulnerable people, ensure competent representation, improve case management and legal representation standards, strategize qualitative legal services in criminal matters and review effectiveness of Adhikar Mitras (PLVs) in delivering legal services in the most effective and time bound manner.
During the meeting, Secretary DLSA Bandipora emphasized LADCs and Panel Lawyers to regularly interact with legal aid beneficiaries for feedback and improvement, provide them diligent and effective representation in court, professional management of the legal aid system in criminal trials, timely and free legal aid to needy individuals, awareness of government schemes and benefits, support to aggrieved women and vulnerable individuals
He also stressed Adhikar Mitras (PLVs) to provide legal assistance at police stations and educating individuals about their rights, conduct door-to-door awareness campaigns in far-flung areas, identify and support vulnerable individuals, including children who dropped out of school due to financial constraints, senior citizens in distress or abandoned by their children, mentally ill persons requiring medical attention.
The meeting provided a platform for discussion, review, and planning to enhance access to justice and legal awareness in the district.
