Udhampur: DIPR hosts Symposium on “Nasha Mukt Bharat”

14 students deliver powerful speeches highlighting dangers of drug addiction

Udhampur : To spread awareness among the youth about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to promote the message of a “Nasha Mukt Bharat” (Drug-Free India), a symposium competition was organized on Monday by the Cultural Unit, Department of Information & Public Relations, Jammu at Aryan Oriental Convent Higher Secondary School (AOC HSS), Udhampur.
A total of 14 students participated in the event, delivering powerful speeches that highlighted the dangers of drug addiction and the importance of leading a healthy, productive life. The competition served as a vibrant platform to engage the students in a meaningful dialogue on substance abuse and the role of youth in building a drug-free society.
The officials from the Department of Information sensitized the students on the growing threat of drug addiction and emphasized the importance of awareness, education, and community support in combating the issue.
The Chairman of the School, Upkar Singh lauded the Information Department for organizing such a thought-provoking and socially relevant program and appreciated the active participation of the students. He emphasized that such initiatives play a crucial role in shaping responsible citizens.
The first prize was bagged by Naman, second prize by Panthveer third prize by Akshita & consolation prizes were given to Akshra and Janvi
The performances were judged by a panel comprising Vicky Sharma, Renuka Bala, and Pushpinder Singh.
The event was attended by Principal Kiran Bala, staff members, officials from the Information Department, and a large number of enthusiastic students, who appreciated the initiative and pledged to contribute to the mission of a Nasha Mukt Bharat.
The programme was conducted under the directions of Joint Director Information Jammu, Deepak Dubey and under the supervision of Cultural Officer Mukesh Kumar Sharma.
