Doda : In view of the increasing number of requests from stakeholders for residential construction permissions within the municipal limits of Doda town, Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, on Monday chaired a meeting in his office chamber.
The meeting aimed to streamline the process for granting construction permissions and to ensure adherence to the provisions outlined in the Housing and Urban Development Act.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ani Kumar Thakur; Chief Planning Officer Manesh Kumar Manhas; Executive Engineers from PW(R&B), JPDCL Division, Jal Shakti (PHE); and the Executive Officer of the Municipal Council Doda.
Officials were asked to present their inputs and assist in identifying genuine applicants who have fulfilled all required formalities, with the objective of facilitating provisional construction approvals within a regulated framework.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to ensure the submission of affidavits by the stakeholders and emphasized the need to fulfill all norms while avoiding any violations during house construction.
Key discussions focused on standardizing the verification process, improving transparency in granting permissions, and enhancing inter-departmental coordination to avoid procedural delays. Emphasis was placed on curbing unauthorized constructions and promoting planned urban development in line with infrastructure capacity, public safety, and environmental guidelines.
