Srinagar, May 20 (JKNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday chaired a crucial Unified Command meeting in Srinagar to review the security arrangements for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra and the prevailing situation across Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources told news agency JKNS that the meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary, top brass from the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and paramilitary forces. The focus remained on reviewing the aftermath of the recent Pahalgam terror attack and the developments following ‘Operation Sindoor’. With the annual pilgrimage set to begin on July 3, security preparedness was discussed in detail.
Sources said that the LG directed security agencies to intensify their coordination and ensure foolproof arrangements. He also strongly emphasized the need to dismantle the entire terror ecosystem operating within the Union Territory, calling for firm and focused action by all forces. (JKNS)
