Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Ganderbal and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar a Police party of Police Post Gutlibagh at a checkpoint established at Wayil Wudder, intercepted a suspect who on seeing naka party tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully. Stating that the said accused was identified as Nazir Ahmad Raina S/o Mohammad Ramzan Raina R/o Gagangeer Sonamarg Police in its statement further said that during search, Contraband Substance (heroin) was recovered from the possession of the said accused who was subsequently arrested.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 77/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Ganderbal besides initiating further investigations Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society, reiterating therein its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
