Udhampur : Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai on Monday conducted an extensive visit to Omarah Morh, T-Morh, Kotli Pain and adjoining areas to review the status of civic amenities and address public grievances.
During the visit to Omarah Morh, local residents demanded improvement of lanes and cleaning of drainage system to prevent water logging.
Responding to demands, the EO Municipality was directed to conduct a special sanitation drive in the area. These include thorough drain cleaning, intensified sanitation efforts, and fogging operations to improve hygiene and prevent vector-borne diseases.
Emphasizing the importance of proactive civic management, the DC instructed the concerned officers to take immediate measures to decongest and clear all choked drains in the vicinity to ensure smooth water flow and avoid waterlogging during rains.
Later, the DC visited Kotli Pain, where she interacted with the local residents. The public highlighted their long-pending demand for the construction of a road and a bridge over the local nallah, which would provide critical connectivity and ease daily commuting challenges.
While responding to the demands, the DC assured the residents that their grievances would be taken up with the concerned departments and resolved at the earliest possible time.
