Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Pays Homage to Martyrs of Cross-Border Shelling

Rajouri: Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) organized a solemn condolence meeting today at 12:30 p.m. in the Conference Hall of the IT Department to pay homage to the valiant souls who attained martyrdom in the recent cross-border shelling.

The gathering, attended by all teaching and non-teaching staff members, was convened on the directions of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Jawaid Iqbal, as a mark of collective grief and solidarity with the bereaved families.

Addressing the university fraternity, Professor Jawaid Iqbal said, “We are deeply anguished by the loss of innocent lives during the cross-border hostilities. The martyrs laid down their lives in service of the nation, and their sacrifice shall never be forgotten. Today, we come together not only to mourn their loss but to reaffirm our commitment to the ideals of peace, dignity, and humanity that they stood for.”

He further stated, “BGSBU stands shoulder to shoulder with the bereaved families in this hour of unimaginable sorrow. Their grief is our grief, and we pray for strength, healing, and peace for every family that has suffered this irreparable loss.”

The meeting included a moment of silence, floral tributes, and heartfelt messages from faculty and staff members, all expressing profound respect for the martyrs and unwavering support for their families.

The university community reiterated its commitment to fostering a spirit of unity and resilience in the face of adversity, emphasizing the role of educational institutions in upholding the values of compassion, patriotism, and solidarity. Mr. Vishal Pahari , faculty , SoET coordinated the occasion, reads the statement. (JKNS)
