Rajouri: As part of a civil defence initiative, 85 cadets of the 5 J&K Battalion NCC, Poonch, actively took part in a Civil Defence Workshop organised by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) at Government Degree College (GDC) Rajouri.
The workshop focused on imparting essential training in disaster preparedness and emergency response skills as per news agency JKNS, Cadets were introduced to basic rescue techniques, first aid, fire safety, and crowd management during crisis situations.
The initiative aims to empower NCC cadets as ‘Aapda Mitras’ (Disaster Friends), ready to serve society during emergencies. The training emphasized their role as frontline responders in times of natural calamities and other disaster situations.
Officials appreciated the enthusiasm of the cadets and reaffirmed the importance of youth participation in civil defence and community resilience. (JKNS)
