Samba: Despite the recent ceasefire understanding between India and Pakistan, security concerns persist along the border. On Saturday, a fresh unexploded mortar shell was discovered near the International Border in Samba district, triggering swift action by authorities.
Official sources told news agency JKNS, that the shell was found by locals in a border area and appeared to be completely new and unexploded. Upon receiving the information, a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was rushed to the location.
The squad secured the area and safely transported the shell to a designated safe zone, where it was later defused in a controlled explosion. The detonation created a loud blast, sending tremors across the surrounding area and causing momentary panic among residents.
