Baramulla : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa conducted a visit to the Tehsil Office, Municipal Council Office and Sub-District Hospital Sopore to review their overall functioning, assess public service delivery and take stock of ongoing administrative activities.
During the visit, DC reviewed the overall performance of the tehsil office and checked the attendance of staff. He was briefed by the Tehsildar Sopore regarding the day-to-day functioning of the tehsil office.
After detailed assessment of the tehsil office, DC approved sanctioning of Rs.6 lakh for upgrading the facilities and strengthening service delivery at the tehsil office Sopore.
DC directed the concerned authorities that all pending court cases must be disposed-off within stipulated time frame, and emphasized timely action on public grievances. Additionally, he directed the concerned authorities to ensure the demolition of unsafe structures in the jurisdiction to safeguard public safety.DC further instructed the Executive Engineer R&B to prepare DPRs for beautification of parking spaces, record room and other facilities in Sopore town for effective service delivery.
Meanwhile, during his visit to the Municipal Committee Office Sopore, DC thoroughly checked the staff attendance, and reviewed the service delivery. Speaking during the visit, DC said that the revenue department has already transferred 40 kanals of land for the construction of a sewage treatment plant which will be operationalised in a few weeks time to cater to the local waste management needs. He further stated that SDRF equipment, including machinery such as boats, life jackets, and other essential tools, will be stationed at Sopore to ensure a prompt response during emergencies.Later, DC conducted a visit to Sub District Hospital Sopore to take stock of the healthcare facilities being provided to the patients. He also interacted with patients, attendants and inspected staff rosters to ensure optimal healthcare delivery.At the SDH Sopore, DC also undertook the thorough assessment of Jan Aushadhi Kendra to review the service delivery and availability of medicine for the patients visiting the hospital. During the visit, DC was accompanied by ADC Sopore and other officers and officials.
