Jammu: Police in Jammu on Thursday said that in a continued effort to curb bovine smuggling under Operation Kamdhenu, a police team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli foiled a smuggling bid and rescued 12 bovines from a truck in the Nagrota Sub-Division.
In a statement issued from the District Police Office, Jammu Police said that a truck bearing registration number JK14D/6067, loaded with 12 bovines, was intercepted following which the driver of the vehicle managed to flee from the spot. Stating that the vehicle was seized on the spot, and all bovines were safely rescued Police in its statement further said that a case under FIR No. 66/2025 under Sections 223 BNS and 11 of the PCA Act was registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli besides initiating further investigation into the case.
