Indian Army Mandi BN Distributes Aid,Ration in Sawajain Mandi

Poonch: The Indian Army’s Mandi Battalion ( Mandi BN) has been actively engaging with residents in Sawajain and Mandi, in Poonch district j&k which has recently faced severe shelling from across the Line of Control (LoC). The soldiers have been conducting door-to-door visits to deliver essential medicines and ration supplies to the affected families, demonstrating their commitment to the welfare of local communities during these challenging times.

The shelling incidents that occurred from May 7 to May 9 have left a significant impact on the area, with many houses suffering extensive damage. Residents have expressed their gratitude towards the Indian Army for stepping in to provide much-needed assistance. Tariq Ahmed, a local resident whose home has been rendered uninhabitable due to the shelling, shared his plight. “There is no scope of us living here anymore,” he lamented. “I have been living with my neighbor since the damage occurred. The heavy shelling has made our house unsafe.”

The situation has been dire for many families in the region. Shabir, another local resident, echoed similar sentiments, stating, “The damage to our house occurred during the shelling on May 7-9. We are thankful to the Indian Army for coming to check on us and providing us with medicines and other supplies.” He emphasized the dual role of the army, noting that while they are engaged in combat at the border, they are also actively helping civilians in distress.

The Indian Army’s efforts have not gone unnoticed. Residents have expressed their appreciation for the soldiers’ dedication and willingness to assist those in need. The army personnel have encouraged locals to communicate any further issues they may be facing, reinforcing a sense of community support amidst adversity.
