DDC Ramban discusses formulation of Capex Budget 2025-26

Ramban: To deliberate on the formulation of the District Capex Budget 2025-26, the District Development Council (DDC) Ramban convened a meeting on Wednesday. The meeting was chaired by the Chairperson Dr. Shamshad Shan in the Conference Hall.
The meeting was attended by Vice-Chairperson Rabia Beigh, all the DDC Councillors, Chief Executive Officer District Development Council Roshan Lal, Chief Planning Officer Dr. Shakeeb Ahmed Rather, ACD Shrinath Suman, ACP Ashfaq Ahmed and other concerned officers.
At the outset, the house observed a two minutes silence to condole the sad demise of the Additional District Development Commissioner Rajouri Raj Kumar Thapa, who lost his life in the cross-border shelling at Rajouri.
During the meeting, the Chairperson informed that Rs. 60 crore has been earmarked under the District Capex Budget 2025-26 for developmental activities in the district.
She took a detailed review of the progress achieved under various sectors and emphasized that the planning process for the upcoming financial year must be participatory and inclusive. She directed all DDC members to formulate their development plans in accordance with the prescribed guidelines by conducting Gram Sabhas in their respective areas to ensure public participation and need-based planning at the grassroots level.
Earlier, the Chief Planning Officer briefed the meeting that 84% financial achievement was recorded under the District Capex Budget 2024-25 in the district.
The DDC members also highlighted various pressing issues from their constituencies and sought special attention toward their resolution.
In response, the Chairperson instructed the CEO DDC Ramban to convene meetings with the Rural Development Department and Jal Jeevan Mission to review the progress of ongoing works and address the concerns raised by the DDC members.
The CEO DDC Ramban also directed officers to work in close coordination with DDC members to formulate a comprehensive plan for fiscal 2025-26, ensuring effective implementation of the District Capex Budget and accelerating the pace of development in the district.
