Reasi: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Reasi, Nidhi Malik chaired a comprehensive meeting to review the progress of the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAGY) and discuss the draft Village Development Plans (VDPs) for the declaration of selected villages as Adarsh Gra
During the meeting, extensive discussions were held on the 50 socio-economic monitoring indicators related to the 7 villages identified under the scheme in Different blocks of Reasi. District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) Sachin Sharma gave a detailed presentation highlighting the status of these indicators and the road ahead. PMAGY aims at integrated development of villages having more than 50% Scheduled Caste (SC) population, with the goal of ensuring holistic growth and upliftment of marginalized communities.
The DDC Reasi stressed the importance of conducting a thorough exercise to ensure data collected in the house-to-house survey is accurate which will help in identification of lagging indicators, and effective planning. She reviewed various data formats submitted for each village and deliberated on the convergence and gap-filling strategies necessary for achieving the targets.
DDC Malik emphasized that this exercise must reflect the ground realities so that the benefits genuinely reach in these villages. She directed concerned officials to pool resources from various departments to bridge the identified gaps efficiently.
She further called for coordinated efforts across departments so that Actual field data from BDOs and concerned HODs is crucial for ensuring proper convergence on the ground.
Further discussions were also held regarding the inclusion of another village Kanha, Pouni identified by the Village Level Convergence Committee (VLCC), for consideration under the scheme. The meeting marked a significant step towards inclusive and targeted development in Reasi district, aligning with the core vision of PMAGY. CPO Narinder Kumar, DSWO, CEO, CMO, DIO, XENs and other officials were present during the meeting.
