Accompanied by a team of officers, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the status of basic supplies and public services. He instructed concerned officials to ensure uninterrupted availability of the essential supplies and services for residents in the affected areas.
During the tour, the Deputy Commissioner visited village Baila in Tehsil Mandi to meet the family of a person who lost his life in Poonch city in the cross border shelling. He offered condolences to the bereaved, and assured them of all possible support from the district administration.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited affected areas in Block Nangali of Tehsil Haveli to assess the damage to property. He also met the family of a person who fell to cross border shelling at village Kojra. He interacted with the affected families and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to providing necessary assistance and standing by them in this difficult time.
To ensure a timely relief process, the DC directed the Mandi and Haveli Tehsildars to immediately start the assessment of damages to private property and submit detailed reports. He emphasized the importance of swift reporting so that relief and compensation measures can be initiated promptly.
The visit reflects the district administration’s prompt and empathetic response to the situation and its ongoing efforts to address the needs of the affected population.
