Srinagar: Srinagar Police on Tuesday carried out extensive searches at multiple locations across the city to dismantle the terror support structure and disrupt any ecosystem aiding anti-national activities, officials said.
A police spokesperson in a statement to news agency JKNS said the searches are part of continued operations targeting terrorist associates and infrastructure aiding terrorism in the district.
Residences of the following individuals were searched, those whose residences were searched include Noor Mohammad Sheikh, son of Late Gh Mohammad, resident of Kanimazar; Waseem Tariq Matta, son of Tariq Ahmad, resident of Rampora; Anjum Younis, daughter of Mohammad Younis, resident of Kenihama; Bilal Ahmad Lone, son of Ab Rehman, resident of Syedpora Eidgah; Faizyab Showkat Dewani, son of Showkat Ahmad, resident of Pater Masjid Zainakadal; Bilal Lone alias Choonin, son of Ab Rahman Lone, resident of Saidpora Eidgah; Manzoor Tola (a released militant), son of Asadullah Tola, resident of KhaneSokta; Mohammad Ayoub Dar, son of Gh Mohammad Dar, resident of Reiteng Khanyar; Mushtaq Ahmad Bachoon, son of Gh Mohi-ud-din Bachoon, resident of Kathidarwaza Rainawari; Zahoor Ahmad Bhat, son of Late Gh Qadir, resident of Trehgam Kupwara, presently residing at Deviagan Hawal; and Firdous Ahmad Dar, son of Gh Mohd Dar, resident of Ibrahim Colony.
The police said all searches were carried out in accordance with legal procedures, in the presence of Executive Magistrates and independent witnesses under the supervision of senior officers.
“The aim is to collect evidence, seize arms, digital devices, documents, and neutralise any support systems working for terrorists,” the spokesperson said.
Srinagar Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace and warned that anyone involved in violence or unlawful activities will face strict legal consequences. (JKNS)
