POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal, today visited several areas of the town affected by the recent cross border shelling. He was accompanied by senior officers of the district administration.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected Mohalla Qazi Mohra, Mohalla Dungus, Mohalla Sarain, District Police Lines, District Court Complex, Jamia Zia Ul Uloom, Mohalla Geeta Bhawan, Mohalla Kamsar, Mohalla Radio Station, Gurudwara Singh Sabha and Mohalla Kama Khan all of which suffered damage due to cross border shelling.
The Deputy Commissioner interacted with local residents and took stock of the ground situation. He directed the concerned authorities to conduct a detailed assessment of property damage and submit comprehensive reports promptly.
The administration assured the affected residents and institutions of all necessary support. Officials were also instructed to ensure timely relief and rehabilitation in coordination with local agencies.
The Deputy Commissioner is expected to visit the remaining areas affected by the cross border shelling shortly to assess the situation firsthand.
