Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday evening said a blackout has gripped Jammu city, with sirens echoing across multiple areas amid escalating cross-border tensions.
Taking to social media platform X, Omar as pwr news agency JKNS wrote, “Blackout in Jammu now. Sirens can be heard across the city.”
Minutes later, he posted another alarming update, stating, “Intermittent sounds of blasts, probably heavy artillery, can now be heard from where I am.”
Amid heightened tension along the Line of Control (LoC) and international border, following days of cross-border shelling and aerial threats. Authorities have already issued advisories, and emergency systems remain on high alert. (JKNS)
