Srinagar, May 8 (JKNS): The Meteorological Department has predicted spells of rain and thunderstorms at several places in Jammu and Kashmir over the next few days.

Director MeT Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad as oer news agency JKNS said that the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy with light to moderate rain/thundershowers on May 7 and 8.

He said similar weather, including gusty winds, is likely from May 9 to 11 at scattered to fairly widespread places, while May 12 may witness brief showers at isolated locations. From May 13 to 17, the weather is expected to remain generally dry.

The advisory urges the public to follow all administrative and traffic guidelines. It also cautions against boating and Shikara rides in Dal Lake, Wular Lake, and other water bodies during gusty winds or inclement weather.

The department has warned of possible landslides or mudslides in vulnerable areas due to intense showers. A significant rise in day temperatures is also expected in the Jammu Division starting May 13. (JKNS)
