Gurez, May 7 (JKNS): Acting on the directions of the local MLA, authorities have shifted the Sub-District Hospital Dawar to its old hospital building with immediate effect, the Block Medical Officer (BMO) Gurez said on Wednesday.
In an official circular a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS reads, the BMO stated that the decision was taken after thorough assessment of the current situation and several critical factors were considered. “The old hospital premises houses a functional operation theatre, ensuring continuity of emergency and surgical services,” the officer said.
He added that the old building also includes a well-maintained safety bunker, providing a secure environment during emergencies.
“The move follows instructions from the Hon’ble MLA Gurez, who stressed the importance of public safety and operational readiness,” the circular reads.
The BMO further directed all staff to ensure a coordinated shifting of essential services, medical equipment, and records to the new location.
“Necessary steps shall be taken to minimize disruption and maintain continuity of healthcare services during the transition,” the circular added.
Copies of the order have been sent to the Chief Medical Officer Bandipora and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Gurez for information. (JKNS)
