Jammu : Deputy Commissioner Jammu Sachin Kumar Vaishya on Monday handed over computers and printers to Government Girls High School Gandhi Nagar, where rehabilitated street children are being provided education by the district administration.
Additional District Development Commissioner Sher Singh was also present on the occasion.
The Deputy Commissioner said that every effort is being made to ensure that children feel encouraged to pursue their studies. He added that the provision of the gadgets will aid the staff and contribute to the learning experience of children. “Families of these children are also being counselled and motivated to continue their wards’ education,” he stated.
At present, 83 such children are enrolled and studying alongside other students at the school. The initiative aims to strengthen digital learning infrastructure and support staff in delivering effective education.
