Jammu : Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sunil Bhutyal on Friday chaired a meeting with key stakeholders of the Education Department of Bhadarwah and Bhalla zones to review academic activities in the schools and execution of different schemes. The meeting was attended by the Chief Education Officer, ZEOs of Bhaderwah and Bhalla, ZPEOs of both zones, and Principals from all GHSSs of the Sub Division.
The meeting focused on measures to improve quality of education and assessment of developmental projects related to school infrastructure, student enrollment, and resource allocation.
The ADC directed the officials to ensure timely completion of ongoing infrastructure works, such as classroom repairs, drinking water facilities and sanitation improvements as per quality standards.
A major area of focus during the meeting was the growing concern of drug abuse among students and youth. The ADC instructed school heads to collaborate with civil society, parents, and local law enforcement to create awareness and implement preventive strategies. He also suggested organizing anti-drug campaigns, counselling sessions, active participation of students in sports activities and moral education programs to steer students toward a healthy lifestyle and responsible behavior.
Promoting social harmony and a safe learning environment was also discussed. The ADC asked for imbibing inclusiveness and values of unity, tolerance, and discipline among the students. The Principals were urged to take proactive steps in addressing grievances of students and ensure that teachers maintain a positive, engaging environment in classroo
The meeting concluded with directions to ensure transparency in educational programmes, effective use of ICT labs and smart classrooms, and regular teacher performance evaluations.
