Road Safety Committee meeting held at Kupwara, DC directs strict enforcement of traffic regulations

Kupwara : In order to review the implementation of road safety measures and traffic regulation in the district, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan on Thursday chaired the meeting of District Road Safety Committee (DRSC), here.
Addressing the meeting, DC stressed that road safety is a major issue concerning the safety of lives of the people. She urged all the stakeholders to cooperate in making the roads safer by following traffic rules and regulations religiously.
She emphasized the officers to intensify the enforcement of traffic regulations on the ground and tighten the noose on offenders to avert the possibility of road accidents in the district which result in losing precious lives.
The SE R&B and BEACON were directed to ensure pothole free roads by repairing and macadamizing all major roads of the district to ensure smooth movement of traffic and the people. They were also directed to ensure curve improvement on major roads of the district especially hilly roads to remove the black spots which are prone to accidents.
The meeting was attended by SE R&B Kupwara, CMO, CEO, ARTO, Executive Engineers, besides, officers from Police, Traffic, and other concerned officers were also present during the meeting.
