Srinagar: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has approved the constitution of Small Business Development Units (SBDUs) at the district level and Business Help Desks (BHDs) at the sub-division level under Mission YUVA to ensure effective implementation of the program across the Union Territory.
According to an official order issued by M. Raju (IAS), Commissioner/Secretary to the Government a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS reads, the SBDUs will comprise officials from various departments including the Additional Deputy Commissioner or Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Deputy/Assistant Director DE&CC, District Nodal Officer of JKEDI, a JK Bank representative, Functional/Project Manager from the Industries Department, and the District Agriculture Officer.
The SBDUs have been tasked with developing district-specific business plans, creating model Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), verifying Mission YUVA applications, coordinating with departments and financial institutions, and implementing marketing and capacity-building initiatives. They will also provide direct advisory services to entrepreneurs and support BHDs in conducting training and providing mentorship.
At the sub-divisional level, Business Help Desks will be constituted with the SDM/ACR, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer, Block Program Manager (NRLM), and a JK Bank representative as members. These desks will facilitate business ideation, assess the viability of models, offer guidance for expansion, and help entrepreneurs access e-markets and government schemes.
The BHDs will act as coordination hubs among stakeholders, including Panchayats and financial institutions, and play a crucial role in linking budding entrepreneurs with formal financing avenues.
The government aims to strengthen grassroots entrepreneurship through Mission YUVA by providing structured support at both district and sub-division levels. (JKNS)
