Srinagar: A 17-year-old student from Sopore, Jannat Shabir Rawa, has emerged among the top scorers in the Class 12 Science stream of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) by securing an impressive 494 marks.
Hailing from Sir Syed Colony in Sopore, Jannat is a student of SRM Welkin Higher Secondary School. Known for her dedication and discipline, she said that success comes from consistent effort and focus.
“Success demands discipline, not just books,” Jannat told JKNS. “Staying away from distractions, especially social media, helped me stay on track with my studies.”
She also had a message for students who couldn’t make it this year. “They should not lose heart. Life offers many chances. With determination and patience, they too will achieve success.”
Jannat credited her parents and teachers for their unwavering support and guidance throughout her academic journey. “Their support and prayers were my biggest strength,” she said.
This year, the Class 12 results saw an overall pass percentage of 75 percent, with girls outperforming boys. A total of 1,03,308 students appeared in the exams, out of which 77,311 qualified. Girls recorded a pass percentage of 80%, while boys stood at 69%.
Jannat is among the 30,622 students who secured distinction and stands out not just for her score but also for her clarity of purpose and quiet confidence. (JKNS)
