Poonch: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal chaired a meeting on Saturday to evaluate the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in the district.
At the outset, the Executive Engineer of the Electric Division JPDCL presented a detailed PowerPoint outlining the scheme’s objectives and benefits. It was reported that 1003 applications have been received on the portal, with 639 applications accepted. Additionally, J&K Bank indicated that out of 222 applicants, 82 have successfully secured loans for the scheme.
The DC directed the executing department to expedite the installation of Solar Rooftop Systems (SRTs) for approved applicants.
He emphasized the need for public awareness and participation, instructing the Executive Engineer to engage stakeholders and inform them about the benefits and incentives associated with the solar energy scheme.
The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts to maximize outreach and ensure the successful execution of the scheme across Poonch district.
The meeting was attended by the Superintending Engineer JPDCL, Executive Engineer JPDCL, LDM J&K Banks, Cluster Heads J&K Banks, AEEs, and other concerned officials.
