Ganderbal: In a focused drive to ensure smooth conduct of the upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra via the Baltal route, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, on Saturday undertook an extensive visit to Baltal to take firsthand assessment of the ongoing preparations.
During the on-site review, a detailed discussion was held on the progress of works being executed by various departments including Jal Shakti, KPDCL, Irrigation & Flood Control, Rural Development Department and others.
DC instructed SDM Kangan to prepare a comprehensive plan marking the locations of all establishments ensuring systematic arrangements and avoiding operational bottlenecks.
Detailed discussions were held regarding the setting up of frisking points, parking arrangements, and provision of RFID counters to streamline the movement and registration process for pilgri
Emphasizing swift action, DC called for expediting critical works including the repair of damaged water pipelines, power cabling, toilet facilities, fencing of the base camp, flood protection measures, and development of parking area.
Beacon authorities were also directed to ensure timely snow clearance and maintenance work along the yatra track for the smooth passage of pilgri
While interacting with the officers, DC reiterated the district administration’s firm commitment to providing a seamless, safe, and well-facilitated pilgrimage experience to all devotees undertaking the holy yatra via the Baltal axis.
Kishore urged all departments to work in coordination and complete their assigned tasks within deadlines to ensure successful conduct of SANJY-2025.
The DC was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Syed Fahim Bihaqi, ASP Ganderbal, SDM Kangan, ARTO, ACP, SDPO Kangan, and other district officers.
