Officials told JKNS that Puran Singh, a resident of Jatah village under Kard Panchayat, had taken his cattle for grazing but failed to return home by nightfall. His family launched a night-long search but was unable to locate him.

On Friday morning, his clothes were found near the banks of the Basantar River in Dan Dabar, prompting his family to alert the police, they said.

Following the information, the in-charge of Goran Police Post and SHO Samba Police Station Sikander Singh Chauhan arrived at the location, official said.

Subsequently, a team from the SDRF Jammu initiated a large-scale search operation to trace the missing man. However, when this report was filed, no success had been achieved. (JKNS)
